Tonight the NFL will make its debut in Brazil playing in Corinthians arena. Expectations are high for another good game after the way last night’s Ravens and Chiefs game went but thig game may live up to it. Bothe the Eagles and the Packers were playoff teams last year and are both considered potential super bow contenders for this season.

The Eagles are known for the fast starts to their season. Last year starting 10-1 before dropping five of their last six games and losing in the wildcard round of the playoffs. Their expectations have been raised along with the talent on their roster. Their starting offense seems to be as good as it gets as they added Saquon Barkley in the backfield along with Jahan Dotson in the slot to finish off one of the best receiver trios in the NFL. Their O-line will see some new faces this year for better or worse especially losing eventual hall of famer Jason Kelce.

Defensively they took some losses losing Fletcher Cox to retirement, Haason Reddick to the Jets and Kevin Byard to the Bears. They had some big signings to make up for these losses featuring C.J. Gardner-Johnson. The linebacker group will also be getting some veteran help from Devin White.

The Packers heated up late last year with Jordan Love showing some hope for the team. They had a rather subtle offseason the biggest headline being the signing of Josh Jacobs from Las Vegas. The biggest struggle for this team will likely be the receiving core especially if Christian Watson struggles to stay healthy again. However, there is hope as Jayden Reed started to make a name for himself last year and Romeo Doubs has shown some potential.

With the home field advantage factor being taken out, it is very difficult to decide on a tight game like this. What makes me pull for the Eagles is how strong they usually start their seasons. The Eagles have won seven of their last nine week 1 games dating back to 2015 and I see that trend continuing tonight although, not easily.

Eagles (-3.5)

Packers (+110), Eagles (-130)

O/U 49.5
